This piece is signed "Michael Charles Taylor, 1971". It's an original piece on stretched canvas with what looks to be its original frame. This painting is done in a loose style with an incredible palette depicting some Navajo Indians travelling both horseback and afoot.
The frame is not solid wood, but some sort of fiber glass with a beautiful antique finish. At some point the frame was broken and repaired, but slowly noticeable to the eye.
The actual artwork is 16" x 20". Overall size including frame is 22.5" x 27".
